VIRTUAL EDUCA CARIBE Announces Dates for March 2012 Meeting
December 14, 2011
March 7-9, 2012 have been announced as the meeting dates for Virtual Educa Caribe (VEC), the Regional Chapter of the Ibero-American Virtual Educa, an initiative that is affiliated with the Ibero-American Summit of Heads of State and Government.
VEC, an initiative of GFDD and FUNGLODE, is an annual forum that promotes knowledge transfer and the development of projects that integrate the use
of new technologies in higher education and professional training. The forum assembles experts in education, training and technological training and community, non-profit and private sector representatives from Ibero-America to exchange information and lessons learned in human resource capacity in order to foster the exchange of best practices and proven results concerning improvements in labor force capacity.
VEC encourages the creation of national and international
networks and alliances that share and replicate satisfactory training models that incorporate new technological tools.
Both forums seek to foster discussion and promote the use of new technology in professional development and training, so as to advance sustainable community development and levels of national competitiveness in the region.
Investment in scientific research and technology; the need to keep teachers current on the latest technological
teaching tools; and the relation between improving salaries for teachers and improving quality assurance were key topics of discussion during the 2011 Conference of Virtual Educa Caribe. More details for this year’s activities will be available soon.
