26th Annual AAPLAC Conference Opens in Santo Domingo
On the evening of February 18, 2015 more than 75 local and international education and exchange professionals gathered in the auditorium of Fundación Global Democracia y Desarrollo (Funglode) in Santo Domingo to officially open the 26th Annual Conference of the Association of Academic Programs in Latin America and the Caribbean (AAPLAC). The event marked the beginning of a 4-day conference for representatives of international exchange programs to discuss the theme “Preparing
Today’s Students to Uncover Local Realities in Latin America and the Caribbean.”

InteRDom to Host More than 50 International Educators at 26th Annual AAPLAC Conference
The 26th Annual Conference of the Association of Academic Programs in Latin America and the Caribbean (AAPLAC) will be hosted by Global Foundation for Democracy and Development (GFDD) and Fundación Global Democracia y Desarrollo (Funglode) through their InteRDom program in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic from February 18 through 21, 2015.

InteRDom and University of Rhode Island’s Fifth Annual Winter Nursing Program Begins
The InteRDom program is excited to host a new group of University of Rhode Island (URI) students for the fifth consecutive winter nursing program from January 4 – 16, 2015. During their two weeks in the country, students will perform service learning activities and explore cultural, professional, and social elements of Dominican society.

InteRDom’s Networking Breakfast for Organizations: “Globalization and Development of Caribbean Cities”
The Fundación Global Democracia y Desarrollo (FUNGLODE) and the Global Foundation for Democracy and Development (GFDD), through its program InteRDom, hosted a networking breakfast on Tuesday, November 25th, 2014 for organizations and companies entitled “Globalization and Development of Caribbean Cities.” The breakfast was held at Café Filo of the Juan Bosch Library.

InteRDom Returns with New Ideas and Connections from 2014 CIEE Annual Conference in Baltimore
The 2014 CIEE Annual Conference provided a great space for learning and networking as InteRDom representatives joined more than 500 international education professionals for the second consecutive year, discussing ideas and attending panels surrounding the conference’s theme, “Breaking Barriers: Cost. Curriculum. Culture,” held in Baltimore, Maryland, from November 21-22, 2014.

International Education Week Connects InteRDom with Hundreds of Students at the University of Rhode Island
InteRDom representatives just finished an exciting few days celebrating International Education Week with the University of Rhode Island in Kingston, by participating in a handful of the numerous events planned on campus from November 17 – 21, 2014 designed to increase students’ awareness of and participation in international study, internship, work and volunteer programs.

Twelve Dominican Students Recognized in GDAE Closing Ceremony
Activities for the Global Dominican Academic Exchange program (GDAE) 2014 drew to a close on Friday evening, November 7, when a special ceremony honored the participants in the University of Pennsylvania and the University of Georgia Transnational Law programs from September and October, 2014.

On November 19-22, representatives of Global Foundation for Democracy and Development (GFDD) will attend the CIEE Conference 2014. Every year GFDD has participated in this annual event hosted by an important leader in the study abroad industry, the Council on International Educational Exchange (CIEE).

Five Dominican Students Successfully Complete Transnational Law Certificate Through GDAE
On October 26, 2014, five Dominican students from the Universidad Autónoma de Santo Domingo (UASD) completed the Transnational Law Program at the University of Georgia School of Law, earning a certificate for the week-long program and bringing new knowledge and insight to the Dominican Republic on international and transnational policies in the areas of: environmental law, corporate law, criminal law and constitutional law.
