  • GFDD and UNA-DR Inaugurate 2017 International Conference of the Americas

    With coordination from the Global Foundation for Democracy and Development (GFDD) and the Mexican civic organization GlobalMuners, the Dominican United Nations Association (UNA-DR) inaugurated the 13th edition of the International Conference of the Americas (CILA 2017) on Sunday, October 29.

  • GFDD and Kitchen Connection Celebrate United Nations Day

    To celebrate United Nations Day, Global Foundation for Democracy and Development (GFDD) teamed up with the UNA-USA Council of Organizations and Earlene Cruz, founder of Kitchen Connection, to take viewers around the world on a virtual culinary tour to Morocco in an event titled: “Spices for Peace.”

  • Visiting Dominican Leaders Engage with GFDD and ECLAC

    Fifty young visiting Dominican leaders converged on the Global Foundation for Democracy and Development (GFDD) DC headquarters today to gain knowledge and inspiration on their paths of professional development. Introduced by Semiramis de Miranda, Acting Co-Executive Director of GFDD, the leaders attended a presentation from Dr. Inés Bustillo, Director, United Nations Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean’s (ECLAC) Washington Office and stayed for a screening of
    La Montaña (The Mountain).

  • GFDD Elected to Vice Chair of United Nations NGO Executive Committee on Financing for Development

    In recognition of GFDD’s efforts in the areas of Financing for Development (FfD), the Global Foundation for Democracy and Development was elected to the United Nations NGO Executive Committee on FfD by unanimous vote on June 7, 2017 for a two-year term.  The new role will provide an opportunity to network and dialogue at the UN with those working on FfD issues and collaborate with the global network of FfD organizations.

  • Dominican Youth Thinks Big on Sustainability

    AISEC, the largest United Nations endorsed youth organization in the world carried out with great acclaim the first Youth Speak Form in the Dominican Republic on June 10th in the headquarters of Funglode, in Santo Domingo. Beginning at 8:00 a.m. more than 180 young people presented entrepreneurial projects to promote the sustainable development in the Dominican Republic through an agenda of conferences, workshops, and project organization.
