  • GFDD Attends Opening Ceremony of CILA 2014 on October 29, 2014

    On Wednesday October 29, the Global Foundation for Democracy and Development (GFDD) was present to witness and support the opening ceremony of the Americas International Conference (Conferencia Internacional Las Américas, CILA, for its Spanish acronym). The conference, hosted by the Association of the United Nations in the Dominican Republic (UNA-DR) at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino, in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic, from October 29 – November 2, 2014 greeted
    more than 1500 young representatives from all around the world.

  • GFDD Approaches the Global Challenge of Financing Development in the Post-2015 Agenda

    In September 2014, the UN General Assembly received the report on the Sustainable Development Goals to guide the post-2015 global development agenda. One of the main challenges faced by the international community working on development is the access to financing mechanisms and options to implement the initiatives and programs needed to achieve the new global goals. To advance effectively towards the end of poverty and sustainable development financial resources and new tools are
    needed.

  • GFDD Attends Key UN Events on Financing for Development

    The first was a Briefing Session on the Report of the Intergovernmental Committee of Experts on Sustainable Development Financing and the second was the First Substantive Information Session of the Preparatory Process for the 3rd International Conference on Financing for Development.

  • GFDD to Attend the Special Events of the 69th Session of the United Nations General Assembly

    The United Nations Headquarters in New York City is abuzz with activity as the High-level meetings of the 69th session of the United Nations General Assembly (the main deliberative, policymaking and representative organ of the UN) kick off today on Monday, September 22. These meetings will be followed on Wednesday by the start of the General debate that runs until September 30.
