Successful Events at Baruch College and The New School Bring Awareness to InteRDom Programs in NYC
October 3, 2013As the application deadline for spring programs draws near on October 25, InteRDom representatives have been working hard to bring the program to potential interns in time to apply for what promises to be an exciting spring.
InteRDom has long-established relations with Baruch College, and on October 3rd participated for the second straight year in the 6th annual Baruch College Work Abroad Fair, where they met with students from all backgrounds and academic interests. Also in attendance at the fair was summer 2013 alumna and current Baruch student, Gretcher Hernandez, who acted as an ambassador for the program and answered students’ questions about her experience. The fair boasted the participation of more than 75 students hailing from Baruch’s three schools: the Zicklin School of Business, Weissman School of Arts
and Sciences and the School of Public Affairs. Organizations also represented at the fair included: AIESEC Baruch, CDS International, Charles Rangel Program, French-American Chamber of Commerce, and Interexchange. Representatives spoke to many students interested in business, finance and marketing opportunities.
In the evening, InteRDom went across town to present an informative workshop on Interview Techniques for International
Opportunities in collaboration with The New School’s Office of Career Development, and was able to make connections with a number of students interested in internship and research opportunities abroad. The diverse crowd that attended this workshop proved very beneficial for InteRDom, as representatives had the opportunity to talk with more than a dozen students who were excited about interning and working abroad.
InteRDom is now planning its
university travel agenda for spring 2014. If you would like for InteRDom to visit your university, please write to students@interdominternships.org.
InteRDom, an initiative of Global Foundation for Democracy and Development (GFDD) and Fundación Global Democracia y Desarrollo (FUNGLODE), is the premier internship, research and academic study program in the Dominican Republic. It offers international students the opportunity to research important topics at the forefront of the United Nations agenda, obtain professional experience by interning with Dominican organizations and businesses related to their fields of study and/or earn academic credits by taking courses and seminars at a local
university.
