Students Learn About the Stanislavsky System of Acting During GMAI Workshop “Directing Actors”

Sixteen students participated in the workshop “Directing Actors” organized by the Global Media Arts Institute (GMAI), in association with EICTV that took place February 8-13, 2009 at FUNGLODE Headquarters.
The innovative workshop on the Stanislavsky system of acting that emphasized the exploration of human emotions was targeted towards students studying directing,
directors of soap operas and television series, and professional actors with experience in film, television and/or theater. Class instruction was provided by Corina Mestre.
GMAI, an initiative of Global Foundation for Democracy and Development (GFDD) and Fundación Global Democracia y Desarrollo (FUNGLODE), is dedicated to providing professionals in the television and film industry with
comprehensive instruction in the latest trends in audiovisual production, as part of its overall mission to expand the multimedia industry of the Dominican Republic. The Institute seeks to play a key role in the development of a highly qualified Dominican audiovisual industry that significantly contributes to the economic development, competitiveness and modernization of the nation.
GMAI regularly offers introductory, intermediate and advanced courses. It also organizes
events that promote greater understanding of the media arts, such as conferences, screenings and interviews with filmmakers.
