Students Complete Courses on Television Production Presented by GMAI in Association with Daytona State College

 Seventeen students in total graduated from the television production courses, “TV I” and “TV II,”  offered by the Global Media Arts Institute (GMAI) in collaboration with Daytona State College,
July 6-17 at FUNGLODE Headquarters in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. 

 
“TV I” provided course participants with instruction on all facets of in studio television production, including: floor direction, technical direction, camera usage and filming, lighting and sound. “TV
II,” a continuation of “TV I”, emphasized the quality standards required by modern television. During this course, students analyzed the productions they realized in “TV I” and worked to improve their abilities in all areas of television production. All technical aspects of the programs were realized at the Channel 13 production studios.
 
GMAI, an initiative of Global Foundation for Democracy and Development (GFDD) and Fundación Global Democracia y Desarrollo (FUNGLODE), is dedicated to providing professionals in the television and film industry with comprehensive instruction in the latest trends in audiovisual production, as part of its overall mission to expand the multimedia industry of the Dominican Republic. The Institute seeks to
play a key role in the development of a highly qualified Dominican audiovisual industry that significantly contributes to the economic development, competitiveness and modernization of the nation.

GMAI regularly offers introductory, intermediate and advanced courses. It also organizes events that promote greater understanding of the media arts, such as conferences, screenings and interviews with filmmakers.
