Photgraphs from the GFDD/Funglode Publication New Perspectives: Dominican Republic Showcased at an Exhibition in Mexico

In collaboration with GFDD/Funglode, the Embassy of the Dominican Republic in Mexico presented the photographic exhibition New Perspectives: Dominican Republic, in the framework of the event “Querétaro Amigo del Mundo” (Querétaro Friend of the World), where Dominican Republic participates as guest country from the 16 to 21 of February.

GFDD/Funglode Receives Recognition for Its Work with the Dominican Community in New York

Global Foundation for Democracy and Development (GFDD) and its sister institution in the Dominican Republic, Fundación Global Desarrollo y Democracia (Funglode), received an award at the 5th edition of the Herencia Dominicana (Dominican Heritage), where the institution was recognized for its work with the Dominican community in New York. The event was held on February 19 at the Marina del Rey in the Bronx, New York.

GFDD and FUNGLODE to Partner on Cultural Tourism Event

On Saturday May 3, 2014, GFDD and FUNGLODE will partner along with the Dominican Embassy to the White House on Cultural Tourism DC’s annual Passport DC program. The activity, which sees fifty embassies open their doors to thousands of Washington, D.C. visitors and residents alike marks a global celebration for a metropolitan city.

The New Perspectives:Dominican Republic Photo Exhibition opened at Plaza Loreto, in Mexico City’s Federal District on February 27, 2014. The event, organized by Global Foundation for Democracy and Development (GFDD) and Fundación Global Democracia y Desarrollo (FUNGLODE), in collaboration with the Dominican Embassy in Mexico, honored Dominican Independence Day celebrations.

New Perspectives: Dominican Republic Photo Exhibit, an initiative of Global Foundation for Democracy and Development, opens in Mexico on February 27, 2014 and remains on display until the end of March. Plaza Loreto, a new development in Mexico City’s Federal District will house the exhibit, showcasing 13 striking images of the Dominican landscape captured from the air.

On June 7, 2012, a Brooklyn elementary school gym was magically transformed into an island paradise at the opening reception of New Perspectives: Dominican Republic Photo Exhibit. Principle Cristina Fuentes said that the exhibit allowed those attending to experience “the real sensation of being on an idyllic tropical Caribbean island”, especially one as beautiful as the Dominican Republic.
