Newest GFDD Fellow Sergio Morales Will Research Environmental Impact Assessment Tools in the Dominican Republic
October 17, 2016The Fellows Program, an initiative of GFDD and FUNGLODE, in collaboration with the Instituto Global de Altos Estudios en Ciencias Sociales (IGLOBAL), is glad to introduce its latest scholar Sergio Morales, PhD candidate in Law and Political Science from the University of Barcelona, Barcelona, Spain. Sergio’s research will focus on the environmental impact assessment as a tool for environmental risk management situations of uncertainty in scientific and in the fight
against climate change around the in the legislative reality of Spain and the Dominican Republic. During this project, he will be collecting and investigating local perceptions of the public administration; the relationship between public organization and society and how public administration must use specific tools to face different decisions when those decisions are under scientific uncertainty, and how those tools can help in the fight against climate change; and supply methods to create
and guide the society towards sustainable development. His field work through the Fellows Program will be conducted during October and December 2016.
Sergio holds a Bachelors in Law, a Masters in Administrative Law, and a Postgraduate in Business Management. He is currently working with Dr. José Esteve Pardo and Dr. Mariola Rodríguez Fuentes as his doctoral thesis supervisors.

national and international level.
