InteRDom and Fellows Program to Participate in 7th Annual National Dominican Student Conference

March 28, 2013

For the 6th consecutive year, Global Foundation for Democracy and Development (GFDD) will be represented at the National Dominican Student Conference through its programs InteRDom Internships in the Dominican Republic and Fellows Program.

To be held March 29-31 at Wesleyan University in Middletown, Connecticut, this year’s conference theme is “Fighting Injustice, Making Headlines.”  In an action-based approach to the theme, InteRDom and Fellows Program  representatives will be participating in the conference’s featured organization fair, “E Pa’lante que Vamos,” wherein participants will be exposed to opportunities to make an impact in
both local and international communities and arenas.

Representatives from both programs will be available to provide networking opportunities and to support students looking to bolster their resumes with international research, internship and service experiences at the fair from 5-8 p.m. on Saturday, March 30.  Private interviews may also be set up at other times upon request.

Other organizations represented at the fair will include: City Year,
Teach for America, Peace Corps, Dominicans on Wall Street, Dominican American National Roundtable, Dominican Youth Leadership Project and The Roosevelt Institute, among others.

This year’s conference promises to attract more than 300 students to serve its mission to educate, uplift and unite the Dominican college student community in the United States and to empower students to initiate social change.

InteRDom and the Fellows
Program’s participation in the Conference is part of the continual efforts that Global Foundation for Democracy and Development (GFDD) and its sister organization in the Dominican Republic, FUNGLODE, make to strengthen collaboration with the Dominican descendants and professionals living in the United States and abroad.
