“Hay un país en el mundo” to be Screened in Lawrence, MA

On December 12, 2018 the Global Foundation for Democracy and Development (GFDD) will collaborate with the Lawrence Public Library and the city of Lawrence, Massachusetts Mayor’s office for a screening of the film, “Hay un país en el mundo” (There is a Country in the World).

This screening of “Hay un país en el mundo” at the Lawrence Public Library is one of many GFDD-led presentations of the film, which has
been screened around the globe, including in the Dominican Republic, New York City and recently at the Harvard University campus in Cambridge, Massachusetts.

The documentary, supported by the Dominican bank BHD-León, has a duration of an hour and 30 minutes. The film is in
Spanish and will be shown with closed captioning in English. A tasting of Dominican appetizers will also be offered at this special event.

About the Film:
“Hay un país en el mundo” (There is a country in the world), directed by José (Pinky) Pintor, is a walk-through of the natural landscape of the Dominican Republic, describing the country’s historic, cultural and social values as explained by experts in specific
areas of interest. The documentary’s musical score was produced by distinguished Dominican artists and is named after the emblematic poem by Dominican poet, Pedro Mir. The film was produced alongside the support of the Dominican bank BHD-León.
