GMAI, Universal Studios and One Race Film Foundation Present Short Films “Los Bandoleros” and “Rápido y Furioso en el Caribe” at Club Mauricio Báez in Santo Domingo

President Leonel Fernández participated in the event, confirming his commitment to the development of the film industry in the Dominican Republic.
About “Los Bandoleros”
“Los Bandoleros” is a short film shot entirely in the Dominican Republic. A team of volunteer industry professionals, local professionals and students of GMAI and the Once Race Film Foundation played an instrumental role in the film’s creation. The film, written and directed by Vin Diesel,
and produced by Juan Basanta, Linel Hernández, Giselle Mangual, Ramses Jiménez and María José Peña, will be released in July of 2009. The film’s protagonists include: Vin Diesel, Michelle Rodríguez, Don Omar, Tego Calderon, Mirtha Michelle and Juan Fernández.

The experience of contributing to the production of the film provided GMAI and One Race Film Foundation students the chance to learn about film creation under the guidance of highly qualified specialists. This unique opportunity illustrates the instrumental role GMAI can play in coordinating collaboration between local communities and the Hollywood cinematographic industry.

procession of invited guests, including cast members Vin Diesel, Michelle Rodríguez, Tego Calderón, Mirtha Michelle and Juan Fernández.
