GMAI Presents Workshop on Sound Register for Film and TV

The Global Media Arts Institute (GMAI), an initiative of Global Foundation for Democracy and Development (GFDD) and Fundación Global Democracia y Desarrollo (FUNGLODE) organized a workshop on sound register for film and television, March 20-24, 2009 at FUNGLODE headquarters.

The class, taught by José Borras, covered the following areas: history of sound; characteristics of sound; types of sound; emotions associated with different sounds; identification and creation of sound; and the use of the program Adobe Audition. Fourteen students participated in the workshop.
GMAI is dedicated to providing professionals in the television and film industry with comprehensive instruction in the latest trends in audiovisual
production, as part of its overall mission to expand the multimedia industry of the Dominican Republic. The Institute seeks to play a key role in the development of a highly qualified Dominican audiovisual industry that significantly contributes to the economic development, competitiveness and modernization of the nation.
GMAI regularly offers introductory, intermediate and advanced courses. It also organizes events that promote greater understanding of the media arts,
such as conferences, screenings and interviews with filmmakers.
