GMAI and Escuela Internacional de Cine y Televisión Will Offer Class on Photography for Film

The Global Media Arts Institute (GMAI), an initiative of Global Foundation for Democracy and Development (GFDD) and Fundación Global Democracia y Desarrollo (FUNGLODE), in association with Escuela Internacional de Cine y Televisión (EICTV), will organize a class on photography
for film. The class will take place February 15-19, 2010, at FUNGLODE Headquarters.
The course will provide students with a detailed overview of the essentials of cinematographic photography. Class instruction will focus on conceptualization from technical scripts to storyboards; lighting techniques; film format; and composition. The class will also discuss the relationship between photography and cinematography. Instruction will be provided by Luís Najmias,
Professor of Photography at Escuela Internacional de Cine y Televisión and Instituto Superior de Arte.
GMAI is dedicated to providing professionals in the television and film industry with comprehensive instruction in the latest trends in audiovisual production, as part of its overall mission to expand the multimedia industry of the Dominican Republic. The Institute seeks to play a key role in the development of a highly qualified Dominican audiovisual industry
that significantly contributes to the economic development, competitiveness and modernization of the nation.
GMAI regularly offers introductory, intermediate and advanced courses. It also organizes events that promote greater understanding of the media arts, such as conferences, screenings and interviews with filmmakers.
