GFDD Will Organize Dominican Get-Together with Acclaimed Dominican Journalist Miguel Franjul

On Friday, October 5, Global Foundation for Democracy and Development (GFDD) will organize a discussion forum with acclaimed Dominican journalist Miguel Franjul. The event will take place from 10:45 am to 12:45 pm in the Park Avenue Theater, located at 780 Third Avenue, on the corner of 48th, Manhattan, NY 10017.

Mr. Franjul will share with journalists and the general public his wide breadth of experience in the field, providing recommendations on how to
maximize the effectiveness of journalism. The senior journalist will also share some of his life accounts throughout the course of his prolific career.

Miguel Franjul is a veteran journalist from the Dominican Republic. He has been the director of various news publications, including Listín Diario, with 123 years in operation. He is a member of the executive committee of the World
Association of Newspapers and News Publishers (WAN) and a member of the board of directors of the Inter American Press Association (IAPA). Mr. Franjul also produces commentary and analysis programs for news stations in the Dominican Republic and in the United States, and possesses over a decade of experience co-directed alongside Cardenal Nicolás de Jesús López Rodríguez a Sunday dialogue show on Televida, the channel of the Dominican Episcopal Conference. Additionally, he is currently the
producer, together with Fabio Cabral, of the program “Hora Crítica” (“Critical Hour”).
