GFDD to be part of the IV Meeting of Latin American and Caribbean Documentary Filmmakers in Mexico

March 2, 2013

The Global Foundation for Democracy and Development, GFDD, thanks to the support of distinguished documentary filmmaker,  Martha Checo, will participate in the IV Encuentro de Documentalistas de América Latina y del Caribe XXI (EnDocXXI), a gathering of Latin American and Caribbean documentary filmmakers. The meeting  will be held from March 5th to 8th, 2013, as part of the 28th edition of the Guadalajara
International Film Festival (FICG28).

The inauguration is slated for March 5th at 4:30 pm. At 6:00 pm a round table on the subject of the “Latin American and Caribbean Documentary” will be held, with the participation of María Guadalupe Ochoa, Óscar Menéndez, Manuel Martínez, and Jaime Tello.

The focus of this fourth edition of the meeting follows up on the
manifesto of the previous one, which described the Iberoamerican documentary film as the bearer of the historical memory and identity of the peoples of Latin America and the Caribbean, in opposition to multicultural genocide. EnDocXXI is a meeting place for documentary filmmakers working on behalf of the acceptance of otherness and freedom of expression. Previous editions of the Encounter have taken place in Caracas (Venezuela), Guayaquil (Ecuador), and Buenos Aires (Argentina).

GFDD  will take part in the many conferences, meetings, roundtables and EnDocXXI General Assembly.
