GFDD to Attend the 2014 Annual Meetings of the IMF and World Bank Group in Washington, D.C.

Representatives of Global Foundation for Democracy and Development (GFDD) will attend the 2014 Annual Meetings of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank Group (WBG), as part of our institution’s mission to actively participate in civil society policy discussions and forums on international and global pressing topics related to development. The 2014 Annual Meetings will be held in Washington D.C. from October 10-12, 2014.
Yamile Eusebio, GFDD NY Office Director, and Maria Victoria Abreu, International Affairs and Socioeconomic Program Manager of GFDD, will participate the Civil Society Program of these Annual IMF and World Bank meetings comprise several events including policy dialogues on a wide range of topics such as poverty reduction, inequality, safeguards, climate change, financial sector reform, and gender. There will also be a number of high-level events on key issues such as food security,
job growth, and shared prosperity.
In addition, GFDD will also attend the World Bank Group Youth Summit 2014: “The Need for Open & Responsive Governments”, to be celebrated October 6th, 2014 as part of this far-reaching agenda of relevant events hosted by the IMF and the WBG. The summit is coordinated in partnership with the Office of the United Nations Secretary-General””s Envoy on Youth.
