GFDD Presents the Documentary Descubre Barahona-Pedernales: Orgullo de mi Tierra

Next Monday, October 6, 2014 Global Foundation for Democracy and
Development (GFDD) will present the documentary Descubre Barahona-Pedernales: Orgullo de mi Tierra. The event, also coordinated by the “Asociación de Barahoneros de Nueva York”, will take place at 6:00 pm at the Isabella Home Center, located on 515 Audubon Avenue in New York. Guest speaker is Mr. Virgilio Gautreaux Piñeyro.
This documentary, produced by Centro Cuesta Nacional (CCN), shows
audiovisuals where you can appreciate the culture of Barahona and Pedernales, the solidarity, authenticity, joy and charm of its people. The public will have the opportunity to learn about the religious beliefs, local folklore, cuisine and ecological diversity of the area.
The CCN is a business retail sales distribution group of the Dominican Republic. They were recently recognized in the VI
Edition of Atabey Awards 2014, where they were given the business award for the documentary series "Pride of My Land", initiative that shows the natural and cultural resources that the country possesses.
GFDD is a nonprofit, non-partisan organization dedicated to the advancement of global collaboration and exchange relevant to Dominican professionals, general audiences and institutions in the homeland and abroad. The Foundation conducts research, enhances
