GFDD celebrates its annual GFDD Tournament with a twist

The president of Funglode and GFDD, Dr. Leonel Fernández, headed the opening and closing ceremonies held during the Tournament which highlighted the participation of Hall of Famer, Juan Marichal, and Albert Pujols, Dominican Major League Baseball star.

Caldwell, NEW JERSEY.- The 19th Annual GFDD Golf Tournament reunited over 100 participants on the prestigious Green Brook Country Club. The fund-raising event was held to benefit GFDD and its various offices in the United States.

This year the tournament took a twist, as the game had to be suspended due to inclement weather. Nevertheless, the participants enjoyed a different day, where golf clubs were exchanged for tables of Blackjack, poker and dominoes. The players had the opportunity to spend the day enjoying the camaraderie and nice atmosphere.

The organizers created two categories for prizes, one in blackjack and one for poker.

President Fernandez and Rudy Fuertes, executive director of GFDD’s New York office, Rudy Fuertes delivered the trophies to the fortunate frontrunners.

At the event, former President Fernández celebrated the understanding and support received by the sponsors of all those in attendance.
