May 7, 2012
GFDD and FUNGLODE’s participation in the Cultural Tourism Passport DC program, on May 5, 2012, in partnership with the Embassy of the Dominican Republic in Washington DC, attracted the attention and interest of a large group of visitors from all over the world. Tourists from Cuba, Colombia, Peru, Korea, Great Britain, along with the cosmopolitan DC population, expressed their interest in the Foundation’s projects, programs and activities and events
taking place in the Dominican Republic, the US and other countries.
Cultural Tourism Passport DC has proven to be an excellent window to present to the general public the work of GFDD and FUNGLODE the Dominican Republic and the United States in the fields of education, technology, internships, fellowships, the environment, cultural
heritage and public policies.
Since the program Cultural Tourism DC’s Passport DC started five years ago, it has not stopped growing, gathering more and more organizations and embassies each year. In addition to visits to the embassies, participants enjoy an international street festival and special performances. All activities are free and open to the public, making it a particularly popular event, which contributes to the city’s cultural
tourism.
