GFDD and FUNGLODE Present its Publications at Dominican Book Fair

It has been confirmed that GFDD and FUNGLODE will actively participate at New York ’s Dominican Book Fair that will take place from October 7 – 9, 2011.

GFDD will present "FUNGLODE/GFDD: its contribution to the exchange, cooperation and progress in the Dominican Republic and the United States”.
 
During the event, which this year will be staged at New York City’s Boricua
College, Global Foundation will present the recently launched Encyclopedic Dictionary of the Environment, by its Environmental Manager, Emy Rodriguez.

Through this publication, GFDD and FUNGLODE present an organized and systematized study of the environment and natural resources of the Dominican Republic, in a single volume, and in a manner that is aesthetically pleasing, attractive and accessible to a wide range of readers, from students to
professionals in the area. The first online version (in Spanish only) (Diccionariomedioambiente.org) of the Dominican Encyclopedic Dictionary of the Environment was published in 2009, and since then it continues to be the most comprehensive and up-to-date information on the country’s environment and natural resources.
 
The Dominican Book Fair is
organized by the New York based Dominican Cultural Commission of the United States and was created by Dominican President Leonel Fernández in 2004, with the goal of promoting cultural activity around the USA including places as diverse as Boston, New Jersey, Miami, Chicago and Washington DC, among others.  Boricua College is a post-secondary educational institution located in NYC. The college was designed to serve the educational needs of Puerto Ricans, Dominicans and
other individuals from Hispanic origins.  It serves a student population of 1,200.

The Presentation of the Dominican Encyclopedic Dictionary of the Environment will take place on Saturday, October 8 from 12:30 – 1:30 p.m. in the Dominican Writers of Puerto Rico Room # 406.
 
The Panel in which GFDD will present its organization will be on Sunday, October 9 from 4:15-5:15pm in Franklin Gutierrez room, first
floor.
