GFDD and FUNGLODE Participate in 2008 Florida Media Market Conference

The international conference exposed participants to current industry trends and provide opportunities for networking. The event included workshops and panels on the Latino market in the US, strategic planning, development of business plans, building international alliances, financing
independent productions and the role of music on the industry, as well as pitch sessions, project presentations by television and film producers and professional networking gatherings.

NALIP-DR representatives, Carmen María Grullón and Marcela Mirabal were also present at the event, and Grullón participated in a panel on the creation of Latino leaders within the industry.
GMAI is dedicated to providing up-and-coming professionals in the television and film industry with comprehensive instruction in the latest trends in
audiovisual production, as part of its overall mission to expand the multimedia industry of the Dominican Republic. The Institute seeks to play a key role in the development of a highly qualified Dominican audiovisual industry that significantly contributes to the economic development, competitiveness and modernization of the nation.

international film, while at the same time offering opportunities for learning, professional development and the creation of professional networks. This year, the Festival will premier a total of 36 feature-length fiction and documentary films.
