First-ever Dominican Encyclopedic Dictionary of the Environment to be launched during the 2011 International Book Fair

Global Foundation for Democracy and Development (GFDD) and Fundación Global Democracia y Desarrollo (FUNGLODE)  will be launching the first-ever Dominican Encyclopedic Dictionary of the Environment during the 2011 International Book Fair in Santo Domingo, to take place from May 4 – 22.

Initially launched online, the objective of the Dictionary is to promote learning by providing
up-to-date, comprehensive information about the Dominican Republic’s environment and natural resources, and to increase public awareness, visibility and dissemination of pertinent information on the Environment.

The launch of the Dictionary is one of the many educational activities organized by GFDD/FUNGLODE during the International Book Fair. The new Dictionary, which contains many original photos of a huge variety of indigenous flora and fauna over 700 new
terms of contextualized information about the DR will be initially available for purchase during the book fair.
