Final Countdown! Less Than a Month Until the Seventh Edition of the Dominican Republic Environmental Film Festival
The seventh edition of the Dominican Republic Environmental Film Festival (DREFF) will get underway on November 12, 2019, and feature four days full of movies and debates on the environment and issues related to climate change. Three cities in the Dominican Republic -Santo Domingo, Santiago and Punta Cana- will be the sites for screenings of 12 movies from six countries.

The II Global Forum Latin America and the Caribbean was a Great Success!
High-level political and academic leaders on Latin America and the Caribbean convened in New York for two days full of debate on the future of the Americas. For the second consecutive year, GFDD organized the Global Forum Latin America and the Caribbean in New York City that featured heads of state and leading researchers and academics from around the world.

The Dominican Republic Environmental Film Festival (DREFF), a GFDD initiative, with the Grupo Puntacana Foundation, and the Gulf and Caribbean Fisheries Institute (GCFI) are hosting two special screenings of environmental documentaries as part of the 72nd Annual conference of the Gulf and Caribbean Fisheries Institute (GCFI). The GCFI72 will be held from Monday, November 4, 2019 to Friday, November 8, 2019 in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic, under the theme of “Scaling up public-private government partnerships for sustainable fisheries and innovative science”. These screenings, which are part of a collaboration with GCFI’s CINEFISH Film Festival, will happen at the NOW Larimar Hotel.

The Dominican Republic Environmental Film Festival (DREFF) will be celebrating its 7th edition on November 12-15, 2019. This year’s festival, “Con pasión por el Planeta” (With Passion for the Planet) will screen in several venues of four cities around the country: Santo Domingo, Santiago, Samaná and Puntacana. Films will include shorts, animations and feature documentaries from many countries as Colombia, Mexico, United States and the Dominican Republic. The full program and special guests will be announced soon!
