GFDD and its Dominican Republic Environmental Film Festival (DREFF) celebrated World Turtle Day with three screenings of the film “Cacú: Un cambio por la vida” (A Change for Life)”. The showings were held at the United Nations Headquarters, Yonkers’ Middle School and Salomé Ureña School in New York City.

On May 21 the GFDD and the Bibloteca Juan Bosch coordinated a screening and discussion of the short film about gender violence “Un acto de rebeldía” (An Act of Rebellion, unofficial English translation) at the Funglode Auditorium in Santo Domingo.

GFDD Officially Started the Holiday Season with a BazaarIn celebration of World Environment Day and World Ocean Day, held on June 5th and 8th, respectively, the DREFF presented a diverse list of environmental films for the general public at the Ibero-American University (UNIBE) and APEC University (UNAPEC) as well as at the Ministries of the Environment and Tourism in the Dominican Republic.
