 The GFDD Global Roundtables hosted Dr. Muthukumara Mani, Lead Environmental Economist at the World Bank and author of the publication Greening India’s Growth: Costs, Valuations and Trade-offs. The session discussed, among other things, the role that environmental resources play in economic growth, otherwise known as Green Growth.

The organizations will hold a commemorative panel discussion in the presence of H.E. Ambassador Martin Sajdik, as well as several representatives of UN Agencies and NGOs. Natasha Despotovic, GFDD´s Executive Director, will discuss and reflect on the status of relationships between NGOs and the United Nations, including what contributions NGOs can make to promote the principles, purpose, and effectiveness of the UN and its related agencies and programs.

At the Environmental Film Festival in the Nation’s Capital
 The Dominican Republic Environmental Film Festival (DREFF) was once again honored to partner with the EFF, as part of the 23th edition of the prestigious festival, to screen two Dominican films: Lago Enriquillo: Preludio del cambio climático, and Mañana and host a panel with the films’ directors at the Gala Hispanic Theater in Washington DC.
