Dominican Republic Environmental Film Festival (DREFF)
• The First Dominican Republic Environmental Film Festival (DREFF) Formally Opens

• Environmental Documentary Screens to a Full House at FUNGLODE's Auditorium

As part of its follow up to the very successful I DR Environmental Film Festival, GFDD and FUNGLODE hosted a special screening of environmental documentary Dirt! The Movie at FUNGLODE auditorium last Friday, September 16 at 7pm. The movie, which played to a full house, was the first in a series of monthly screenings by both institutions that will be dedicated to covering themes related to the Environment. Read more |

Dominican Film Showcase
• GFDD and FUNGLODE hosts Dominican Film Showcase at the Organization of American States in collaboration with Art Museum of the Americas, Dominican Embassy to the US, and the Dominican Mission to the OAS

Thought-provoking, entertaining and artfully crafted films defined the first ever Dominican Film Showcase hosted by GFDD and FUNGLODE at the Cine Americas in Washington DC. Over a period of four days, audiences were treated to a sampling of some of the best films produced in the Dominican Republic, by Dominican filmmakers, about Dominican topics. In its ongoing mission to promote understanding and appreciation for Dominican culture, values and heritage and to facilitate exchange between Dominicans at home and abroad, GFDD reaches out to Chief Executive of Fine Fare Supermarkets and Dominican-born New York Community Leader Mr. Rudy Fuertes to talk about developments in the New York Latin community over the last decade as well as the economic and social impact of New York-Dominican business ties. He also speaks about how the cultivation of ties has yielded positive results for US-Dominican trade.

GFDD and FUNGLODE Presents its Publications at Dominican Book Fair, October 7-9 at Boricua College

It has been confirmed that GFDD and FUNGLODE will actively participate at New York 's Dominican Book Fair that will take place from October 7 - 9, 2011. GFDD will present "FUNGLODE/GFDD: its contribution to the exchange, cooperation and progress in the Dominican Republic and the United States". During the event, which this year will be staged at New York City's Boricua College, Global Foundation will present the recently launched Encyclopedic Dictionary of the Environment, by its Environmental Manager, Emy Rodriguez.
