Dominican Youth Thinks Big on Sustainability
June 15, 2017AISEC, the largest United Nations endorsed youth organization in the world carried out with great acclaim the first Youth Speak Form in the Dominican Republic on June 10th in the headquarters of Funglode, in Santo Domingo. Beginning at 8:00 a.m. more than 180 young people presented entrepreneurial projects to promote the sustainable development in the Dominican Republic through an agenda of conferences, workshops, and project organization.
Youth Speak Form
is an event of international character where young leaders and organizations convene to act on objectives of sustainable development and thereby generate an environment where ideas can be shared and high social impact projects can be co-developed. This event marked the perfect opportunity for young people from different localities of the country to share their ideas of projects and undertakings with the possibility to win large prizes.
The project “Reduciendo mi
huella de carbono” (Reducing my Carbon Footprint) by Eddy Vasquez, Otoniel Carela, and José Lagrange received first place in the Action Space of the event while the project “Emprendimiento Joven” (Youth Entrepreneurship) led by Julio Perez, Yaneisi Sánchez, and Ana Beltre took second place of the day. Third place was awarded to the project “Manéjate” (Manage Yourself) presented by Juan Junior Genao, Hugo López, Ana Gelimer, Edwin Jimenez,
and Genesis Vargas. Congratulations to everyone for their efforts and goals of worldwide contribution.
