The event, the second of its kind in the United States – the first was celebrated at Yale University — sought to promote exchange initiatives amongst students and communities of Dominican residents in the Dominican Republic and in the United States. It also provided a space in which to
recognize the work of Dominicans that have developed successful careers in the United States, the impact of their success on their communities of origin, and the influence of Dominican students on their colleges and universities.
