Documentary Film Course Closing Ceremony

On Friday, May 2, 2008, 34 students graduated from the Global Media Arts Institute’s Documentary Film Course. During the ceremony to recognize the students’ successful completion of the course, certificates were distributed by GMAI technical director, Omar de la Cruz.
Throughout the five day intensive class, aspiring filmmakers learned how to create documentary films using both narrative and non-narrative cinematographic structure. They
also developed a more in-depth understanding of the elements essential to making quality documentary films.
The course was instructed by Jorge Fuentes, Professor of Documentary Film at the Escuela Internacional Para Cine y Televisión in Cuba.
Classes were held April 28 to May 2, 2008. Sessions took place both at FUNGLODE Headquarters in Santo Domingo and the GFDD/FUNGLODE pavilion at the fairgrounds of the Santo Domingo International Book
Fair.
