CUA’s Students and Faculty Got a Taste of Dominican Culture through GFDD and the Embassy of the Dominican Republic’s Showcase
February 4, 2015
Global Foundation for Democracy and Development (GFDD) and the Department of Cultural Affairs of the Embassy of the Dominican Republic in the United States showcased the Dominican Republic at the Catholic University of America (CUA)’s annual Open House & Embassy Exhibit. The event took place during CUA’s International Week
at their campus in Washington, D.C.
GFDD and the Embassy of the Dominican Republic joined forces to exhibit beautiful aerial photos from the book “New Perspectives: Dominican Republic,” published by GFDD, as well as promotional material on all of GFDD’s initiatives aiming to increase collaboration between the Dominican Republic and the
United States, especially the internship and academic exchange programs InteRDom, Global Dominican American Exchange (GDAE) and the Fellows Program.
Students and faculty of CUA enjoyed the display and showed a lot of interest in the
Dominican Republic’s unique culture, landscapes and internships opportunities. GFDD’s 2015 Calendar and amazing photographic posters of beautiful Dominican sceneries were given away during the event. About two hundred people attended the exhibition on January 30, 2015.
GFDD and the Embassy of the Dominican Republic in Washington, D.C. were invited by CUA to attend the next exhibition that will take place on November 2015.
