Advancing Educational Equity in the Dominican Republic: A Key Event at Columbia University

On March 31, 2025, at 5:00 p.m., Columbia University (2920 Broadway, New York, NY 10027) will host a pivotal forum titled “Advancing Educational Equity in the Dominican Republic.” This event will bring together distinguished experts in education to analyze and propose solutions for strengthening educational equity in the Dominican Republic.
Organized by Juventud Hablemos of Columbia University and the Global Foundation for Democracy and Development (GFDD), the forum will be conducted entirely in Spanish. It will feature two influential leaders in the field:
- Dr. Josefina Pimentel – Former Minister of Education of the Dominican Republic (2011–2013) and current rector of IGLOBAL in the Dominican Republic.
- Dr. Nino Collado – Specialist in educational leadership, former school director, and associate at Creative Leadership Education.
These experts will share their insights and experiences in promoting policies and strategies that foster a more equitable and inclusive education system in the Dominican Republic. The discussion will cover key topics, including access to educational opportunities, teaching quality, and leadership in the academic sector.
