Activities Taking Place During the Centenary Celebration of the Birth of Juan Bosch, June 8-12

Global Foundation for Democracy and Development (GFDD) and Fundación Global Democracia y Desarrollo (FUNGLODE) have organized a series of activities to celebrate the centenary of the birth of Juan Bosch. The program will begin on Monday, June 8 at 7:00 pm with a round table discussion
during which individuals with links to Professor Bosch will discuss his life and work. After the discussion, to be held in the FUNGLODE Auditorium, there will be a short cocktail which will officially inaugurate the week-long celebration dedicated to this honored Dominican thinker, writer and politician.

The program of events for Tuesday and Wednesday will consist of morning workshops from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm and round table discussions in the evening beginning at 7:00 pm
in the auditorium. On Thursday, in the Remedios Chapel, the Cuban musical group Ars Longa will perform, beginning at 8:00 pm for a period of two hours. On Friday the week’s activities will come to a close with a colloquium, cocktail and conference featuring a presentation by Honorary President of GFDD and FUNGLODE and President of the Dominican Republic, Dr. Leonel Fernández.
