May 5, 2016
Global Foundation for Democracy and Development (GFDD) and Fundación Global Democracia y Desarrollo (Funglode) will be partnering again with the Embassy of the Dominican Republic in the United States to present the very best of the Dominican Republic during the 2016 Around the World Embassy Tour, a signature annual event in Washington, DC part of the Passport DC initiative.
The Embassy of the Dominican Republic will open their doors Saturday May 7 from
10am to 4pm to thousands of D.C. visitors and residents for this event. As in previous years, GFDD/Funglode will showcase their many programs promoting sustainability and the environment, technology, education, cultural heritage, and internships and scholarships; including the Dominican Republic Environmental Film Festival (DREFF), InteRDom, the Global Dominican Academic Exchange, the Fellows Program, and the Collaboration with the UN.
GFDD reaches out to the Dominican
community and to all those interested in the Dominican culture as a part of its mission to promote the understanding and appreciation of the Dominican culture, values and heritage, explains Natasha Despotovic, GFDD Executive Director. “Annual events such as the Passport D.C. aim to bring together members of the Dominican community that live in the U.S., particularly Washington, D.C. and New York.”, continues Despotovic.
Visitors at the Dominican
