GFDD, FUNGLODE and Microsoft Offer Workshop on Integrating Technology in Education
February 7, 2012
On Monday, February 6, 2012, Global Foundation for Democracy and Development (GFDD) and its sister organization in Santo Domingo, Fundación Global Democracia y Desarrollo (FUNGLODE), partnered with Microsoft in the Dominican Republic to organize the workshop “Integrating Technology in
Education” at FUNGLODE Headquarters in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.
During the workshop, Microsoft representative, Máxima Rodríguez, presented the program “Teaching with Technology,” a program that provides training to educators on the use of technological tools for teaching and learning. Ms. Rodríguez stressed that students often times do
not view technology as a tool that can help them to achieve their educational and professional objectives.
Félix Farías, Director of Technology, Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Technology (MESCyT); Juan Luis Lozada, Director of Communications, Microsoft Dominican Republic;
Ramón Vilorio, Director of Technology, Instituto Superior de Formación Docente Salomé Ureña (ISFODOSU); Juan Carlos Hernández, Manager of Academic Programs, Microsoft Dominican Republic; and Paul Goris, Coordinator of Technology and Education at FUNGLODE, were among those participating in the workshop.
For years, GFDD and FUNGLODE have been partnering with Microsoft to offer training programs to
hundreds of teachers to benefit thousands of students.
