Virtual Educa Mexico 2011

GFDD/FUNGLODE will be participating at the Virtual Educa which will be taking place in Mexico from June 20 – 24, 2011.  Each year, VE organizes an annual “International meeting for innovation in Education and Training” gathering scholars, experts, representatives of corporations and civil society, among others, from America and Europe. This year’s conference is based around the theme of “Educational Innovation for a
Development Without Frontiers”.

Virtual Educa Mexico 2011 was unveiled at an event hosted at the TEC of Monterrey campus in Mexico City, and attended by a number of international organizations including GFDD/FUNGLODE.  Dr. Patricio López del Puerto, Rector of the Virtual University of the Technological System of Monterrey, introduced the initiative and stressed the importance for the TEC of Monterrey to host this important international
meeting welcoming thousands of international participants to share experiences and best practices in the field of education. 

In addition to 12 workshops, the preliminary program focuses on specific areas including: 

  1. Multilateral and governmental initiatives 
  2. School of the Future
  3. University
  4. Continuing training 
  5. Knowledge management tools
  6. Digital integration tools 
  7. Case studies

Virtual Educa is an IBERO-AMERICAN INITIATIVE for the implementation of  innovative projects in the fields of education, vocational training, and lifelong learning.

Through this instrument,  it develops access to global knowledge, allowing the Ibero-American countries to actively take part in the
technological revolution that will significantly help transform their societies.

Global Foundation for Democracy and Development (GFDD) and Fundación Global Democracia y Desarrollo (FUNGLODE) identifies itself with the aims of Virtual Educa,  and is the regional host of the Caribbean chapter of the program which has been working for the last 6 years to foster collaboration between
public, private and non-governmental sector within the Ibero-American world with the aim to study and exchange experiences and spread good practices.
