October 12, 2010

Global Foundation for Democracy and Development (GFDD) attended the Annual Conference of the Latin American Studies Association (LASA) in Toronto, Canada, which took place October 6-9. LASA is the largest association of professionals involved in the study of Latin America. The Association boasts a membership of specialists from diverse disciplines, from around the world, representing academia and public and private institutions.

Participation in the
conference exposed GFDD to topics permeating current research on the region and provided a unique opportunity to network with internationally recognized experts in the areas of finance and trade, regional and international relations, political science, energy, anthropology, sociology, history, literary analysis, education and climate change. The Foundation’s involvement in this year’s conference was a huge success. GFDD was able to amass critical contacts with key
figures in the world of Latin American Studies, contacts that will lead to the development of new innovative and important projects and programs.
