In Celebration of Black History Month GFDD and FUNGLODE Will Present the Film Driving Miss Daisy

On Tuesday, February 25, at the Universitario Regional Santiago (CURSA), Foundation for Democracy and Development (GFDD) and Fundación Global Democracia y Desarrollo (FUNGLODE) will present the winner of the Academy Award for Best Picture, Driving Miss Daisy, directed by Bruce Beresford. The 1989 film featuring Morgan Freeman, Jessica Tandy and Dan Aykroyd depicts the evolving
relationship between an elderly Jewish woman and her African-American chauffer over the course of two decades. Set in Atlanta, Georgia in the ‘50s and ‘60s, the film takes a close look at the racial and religious prejudices that pervaded American society during this time.
The event is being coordinated in partnership with the United States Embassy and the Fulbright Program. The screening will be followed by a question and answer session with
representatives from the United States Embassy and the Fulbright Program.
