In Honor of Black History Month GFDD and FUNGLODE Will Present the Spike Lee Film Do the Right Thing

On Tuesday, February 23, at the Universidad Autónoma de Santo Domingo (UASD), Foundation for Democracy and Development (GFDD) and Fundación Global Democracia y Desarrollo (FUNGLODE) will present the Oscar award-winning film by Director Spike Lee, Do the Right Thing. Produced in 1989, the film is a story of interracial and intergenerational relations in the
multi-ethnic community of Bedford-Stuyvesant in Brooklyn, NY. Lee stars alongside actors Danny Aiello, Ossie Davis, Giancarlo Esposito, John Turturo, Rosie Perez, Martin Lawrence and Roger Guenveur Smith.

The event is being coordinated in partnership with the United States Embassy and the Fulbright Program. The screening will be followed by a question and answer session with representatives from the United States Embassy and the Fulbright Program.
