Students Graduate from Course Adobe Encore Offered by GMAI in Collaboration with EICTV

On September 18, thirteen Dominican students graduated from the course on Adobe Encore offered the Global Media Arts Institute (GMAI), an initiative of Global Foundation for Democracy and Development
(
GFDD) and Fundación Global Democracia y Desarrollo (FUNGLODE), in coordination with the Escuela Internacional de Cine y Televisión(EICTV) in
Cuba. The course took place September 14-18 at FUNGLODE Headquarters in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.
 
During the week, President of the Dominican Republic, Dr. Leonel Fernández visited with the students. President Fernández commended the students for their hard work and thanked instructor Jorge
Mochón for offering the class.
 
The objective of the course was to train students on how to create DVDs and Bluerays using Adobe or Final Cut Studio applications. Core concepts explored during the workshop included: creation and importation of projects, creation of menus; development of timelines, use of audio and
subtitles; establishment of links, and product development.
 
Instructor Jorge Mochón holds degrees in Photography and Imaging and Audiovisual Postproduction and Promotion. He has taught courses at a number of educational institutions, among them: Escuela Internacional de Cine y Televisión (EICTV) (Cuba), Universidad Cardenal Herrera (Spain), Escuela
Politécnica Superior de Gandia (Spain) and Universitat Jaume Primer (Spain).
 
GMAI is dedicated to providing up-and-coming professionals in the television and film industry with comprehensive instruction in the latest trends in audiovisual production, as part of its overall mission to expand the multimedia industry of the Dominican Republic. The Institute seeks
to play a key role in the development of a highly qualified Dominican audiovisual industry that significantly contribute to the economic development, competitiveness and modernization of the nation.
 
GMAI regularly offers introductory, intermediate and advanced courses. It also organizes events that Promote greater understanding of the media arts, such as conferences,
screenings and interviews with filmmakers.
