GMAI Organizes Workshop on Cinematographic Scriptwriting

The Global Media Arts Institute (GMAI), an initiative of Global Foundation for Democracy and Development (GFDD) and Fundación Global Democracia y Desarrollo (FUNGLODE), in collaboration with Escuela Internacional de Cine y Televisión de Cuba, offered a workshop on cinematographic scriptwriting, taught by author and
screenwriter Eliseo Altunaga. The workshop took place February 2-6, 2009 at FUNGLODE Headquarters in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.

The class, directed towards students of film, social communications, journalism and literature, provided participants with theoretical and practical instruction on the art of scriptwriting.

GMAI is dedicated to providing up-and-coming professionals in the television and film
industry with comprehensive instruction in the latest trends in audiovisual production, as part of its overall mission to expand the multimedia industry of the Dominican Republic. The Institute seeks to play a key role in the development of a highly qualified Dominican audiovisual industry that significantly contributes to the economic development, competitiveness and modernization of the nation.

GMAI regularly offers introductory, intermediate and advanced courses. It
also organizes events that promote greater understanding of the media arts, such as conferences, screenings and interviews with filmmakers.
