GMAI Organizes Course “Digital Imaging Fundamentals”

The Global Media Arts Institute (GMAI), an initiative of Global Foundation for Democracy and Development (GFDD) and Fundación Global Democracia y Desarrollo (FUNGLODE), in collaboration with Daytona Beach College, today inaugurated the curse, “Digital Imaging Fundamentals.” The course will take place until next Thursday, September 19, 2008. Sessions will take place
from 6:00 pm – 10:00 pm at FUNGLODE Headquarters in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.
This class introduces students to the use of personal computers, the Macintosh Operating System and tools used to create graphics for design, photography and digital mediums. Participants will learn skills related to editing and manipulation of images and
archives.
Each student will realize various assignments which will be discussed in class, as well as a final project based on a topic of his or her choice.
 
The following week, GMAI will offer the course, “Digital Image Fundamentals II.” The course will provide advanced instruction in digital technological processes and photography.
GMAI is dedicated to providing up-and-coming professionals in the television and film industry with comprehensive instruction in the latest trends in audiovisual production, as part of its overall
mission to expand the multimedia industry of the Dominican Republic. The Institute seeks to play a key role in the development of a highly qualified Dominican audiovisual industry that significantly contributes to the economic development, competitiveness and modernization of the nation.
 
GMAI regularly offers introductory, intermediate and advanced courses. It also
organizes events that promote greater understanding of the media arts, such as conferences, screenings and interviews with filmmakers.
