The Seminar-Workshop will take place during the Fourth Edition of the International Conference of the Americas, to be celebrated in the Barceló Bávaro Convention Center in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic, October 15-19, 2008.
The idea behind the Seminar-Workshop originates from discussions that occurred during the 2007 edition of CILA. One of the primary concerns expressed during this conference was the need to provide journalists with instruction related to the content and use of the different communications resources offered by the United Nations. The First Regional Seminar-Workshop for Journalists on the United Nations and Global Issues will serve as a venue in which journalists and media experts
of the Dominican Republic and other countries of the Region can familiarize themselves with the work realized by the United Nations.
