GFDD promotes the Dominican Republic in “Taste of the World” DC Festival

On Saturday, August 25, 2018, from 11am to 4pm, Washingtonians enjoyed the Third Annual Taste of the World Festival, an International Festival that celebrates the breath of traditions and cultures of Washington, D.C,’s diverse communities as expressed by music, dance, traditional food, arts & crafts, vendors and other cultural expressions!

This year the Dominican Republic was the honored host country, and other nations, including India,
Ethiopia and other Caribbean countries, were also celebrated in this annual event hosted by D.C. Mayor Bowser and D.C. Department of Parks and Recreation (DPR).

GFDD, together with the Dominican Republic Embassy, joined efforts in promoting the country’s
culture and natural beauties. GFDD’s publications such as “All Things Dominican” and “DR: New Perspectives”, and the DominicanaOnline.org portal were showcased during the festival and visitors learned and were amazed by the Dominican Republic’s wonders.

Mr. Jose Tomas Perez, Ambassador of the Dominican Republic in Washington, DC, other representatives of the Dominican Embassy, diplomatic delegations of other
nations, and authorities of the DC Mayor’s Office and the DPR were amongst the special guests.

During the event, GFDD’s representative Ms. Beatriz Rodil, presented a copy of “All Things Dominican” to Mrs. Jackie Reyes, Director, Office on Latino Affairs, DC Mayor’s Office.
