DREFF Joins BIJRD at FICI 2018 with Screenings of “The Boy and the World”

As part of the collaboration with the XIII Festival Internacional de Cine Infantil (FICI – Children’s International Film Festival), held annually in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, GFDD and its DR Environmental Film Festival (DREFF) screened the animated film “The Boy and the World” twice. The first screening was held on Sunday, July 29 at 4:00 p.m at Sambil, and the second one was on Monday, July 30 at 4:00 p.m. at
Agora Mall. Hundreds of children and adults enjoyed the Oscar nominee film that was part of the 2016 DREFF’s official selection.

In addition to the screenings and also as part of
FICI’s environmental protection efforts, participants were able to enjoy a virtual reality experience called “Vertedero Reality” (Dump Reality), created by Dominican filmmaker José María Cabral.

FICI is an initiative of the Vice-presidency of the Dominican Republic and the Biblioteca Infantil y Juvenil de la República Dominicana (BIJRD – Dominican Republic’s Youth Library).
