GFDD Meets with Colegio Dominicano de Periodistas

The Global Foundation for Democracy and Development (GFDD) met with leaders and members from the Colegio Dominicano de Periodistas en Estados Unidos (CDP-US –  Dominican Journalism Association in the United States) to discuss possibilities for future alliances between the institutions.

Present on behalf of the CDP-US during the encounter were Secretary General Ana Pereyra, Manager of Education Fresa Torres, and former Secretary General Luis Alfredo
Collado. On behalf of GFDD, Yamile Eusebio, Acting Co-Executive Director and Kenia Hernández, Administrator, were present.

The reunion came about thanks to the support of Josefina Álvarez, a US-based collaborator for GFDD. The meeting took place in GFDD’s New York office, located in the neighborhood of Washington Heights.

About the Colegio Dominicano de Periodistas:
The Colegio Dominicano de Periodistas (CDP –
Dominican Journalism Association) was formed on May 7, 1991 by Law No. 10-91. Created through a lengthy and difficult process by the Sindicato Nacional de Periodistas Profesionales (SNPP – Union of Professional Journalists) and supported by diverse professional, political, and associations, it is the leading institution for the journalism sector in the Dominican Republic. It maintains a branch office in New York which has the goal of bringing together CDP members residing in the New York
Tri-State area.
