Funglode/GFDD Ascends to the 40th Position in the Ranking of the Best Think Tanks of Latin America

For the third consecutive year, the Fundación Global Democracia y Desarrollo (Funglode)/Global Foundation for Democracy and Development (GFDD) was selected as one of the best think tanks in Latin America in the 2016 Global Go To Think Tank Index Report, University of Pennsylvania.

In the report, Thursday, January 26 at a meeting organized in Washington by the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS), Funglode/GFDD achieved position 40 among the best
think tanks in Latin America. In 2015, it reached position 48 in this category.

In the category of Best Use of Social Media and Networks, Funglode/GFDD occupies the position 76, and in the Top Environment Policy Think Tanks the 90th, while in Foreign Policy and International Affairs occupies the 111th position.

In 2016, Funglode/GFDD for the first time entered the ranking of think tanks to watch, in position 98. In 2015, among Latin American think tanks selected in
this category were the Economic Commission for Latin America And the Caribbean (ECLAC), the Getulio Vargas Foundation, the Research Center for Development (CIDAC, for its acronym in Spanish) and the Ethos Public Policy Lab.

In 2016, Chatham House, the Royal Institute of International Affairs, London was selected as the best think tank worldwide.

The University of Pennsylvania’s Think Tanks and Civil Society Program (TTCSP) annually presents the index that
values the best think tanks in more than 50 countries and 70 cities around the world. In 2016 more than 8,000 were evaluated. Hundreds of experts in thematic areas and regional specialists contribute their knowledge to the annual report.
