UAPA University Students Learn About Pressing Problems Causing Climate Change

(Santo Domingo, October 19, 2015) Last Wednesday, October 14, students and staff of the University for Adults (Universidad Abierta Para Adultos –UAPA) participated in a screening of the documentary Lago
Enriquillo: Prelude to Climate Change, held at the National Aquarium. The event was part of the programming of the Year-round Environmental Film Screening Series run by GFDD/Funglode as a sub-initiative of the Dominican Republic Environmental Film Festival.
The screening was part of a training workshop for upper-level students of Social Intervention
at the University, with the aims of fomenting discussion on the subject of aquatic species and habitats and raising awareness about climate change in the Dominican Republic.
