September 30, 2015
The “Conferencia Internacional de Las Américas” (CILA) is the most important student event on global issues in Latin America and the Caribbean.
The 11th edition of CILA will be held from Thursday October 22 through Sunday October 25, 2015, at the Crown Plaza Hotel Convention Center in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.
The working languages of the conference will be Spanish, English, and French. This
effort is being undertaken in coordination with Fundación Global Democracia y Desarrollo (Funglode) and the Global Foundation for Democracy and Development (GFDD).
CILA 2015 will be a meeting point for more than 1,000 young people from different areas around the world who will work together in an atmosphere of diplomacy and cooperation as they search for solutions to the challenges facing the international community.
Participants at the conference will
simulate ten United Nations organizations and commissions as well as other multilateral, regional, and international institutions in a fabricated futuristic context that has never been done before in the Dominican Republic.
Seminars, conferences, workshops, and exhibitions will be offered, as well as cultural and social activities on issues directly related to the United Nations’ agenda.
CILA 2015 will be accompanied by a series of parallel
activities of the Model United Nations, including: Seminar-Workshop for Faculty Advisors, a Global Concert, a Cultural Encounter, and the Gala Closing Ceremony.
