Christmas Get-together with GFDD Partners and Team Members at the Washington, D.C. Office

Sponsors, partners, friends and colleagues of the Global Foundation for Democracy and Development (GFDD) are the fundamental pillars that help it carry out its mission: to create and implement initiatives that further development, in all its forms, in the Dominican Republic and throughout the Western Hemisphere. On this opportunity, the non-profit organization took advantage of the start of the holidays to thank them all by means of a cocktail that took place in its
Washington, D.C. office last December 4th.
The staff of both, the D.C. and the New York offices, hosted an enjoyable and inspiring evening in which diplomats, officials, businessmen and leaders of the various social, political and economic realms shared experiences and created networks in a relaxed atmosphere.
Among all the guests were the Ambassador of Guatemala to the Organization of American States (OAS), José Maria Argueta; the Ambassador of the Dominican Republic to the United States, Aníbal de Castro; France””””s Ambassador to the OAS, Jean-Claude Nolla; the Chairperson of the OAS Special Committee on Migration Issues, Olga
María Pérez Tuna, and the Minister Counselor of the Embassy of Guatemala to the OAS, Luis Carranza.
Other personalities that attended the evening event were: the former Governor of Puerto Rico and partner at Steptoe & Johnson LLP, Attorney Luis Fortuño; the Alternate Ambassador of the Dominican Mission to the OAS, Edward Anibal Pérez Reyes; the Minister Counselor of the Embassy of the Dominican Republic to the United States of America, José Luis Domínguez Brito,
and the Minister Counselor for Cultural Affairs of the Embassy of the Dominican Republic to the United States of America, Ligia Bonetti Reid.
"For us it is always a privilege to share with you, and even more so, we wish to thank you for the support that each of you has provided the GFDD and its initiatives since its inception," said the Executive Director of GFDD, Natasha Despotovic.
In turn, the Director of the GFDD office in New
York, Yamile Eusebio, stated: "Today we thank all our partners, including those from other countries that were unable to be represented here, for the support they have provided us year after year for the promotion and implementation of more than 20 programs and initiatives in the areas of social, economic and democratic development."
Meanwhile, the Director of Projects and Information Technologies, Semiramis de Miranda, said that the partners, colleagues
and friends of the GFDD are the "building blocks" for the work the GFDD has been carrying out for more than a decade. "Today we celebrate the fact that, through strong partnerships and networks with organizations and leaders from around the world, the Foundation builds bridges and promotes development in the Dominican Republic and Latin America, as it is set forth in our vision statement".

GFDD
is an organization that was founded and is chaired by the former President of the Dominican Republic, Leonel Fernández. It was created in 2002 to strengthen cooperation and exchange between the Dominican Republic and organizations and leaders from the United States as well as from the Dominican diaspora.
